"Koala Moon" Celebrates Silver Victory at British Podcast Awards
Koala Kids, an independent podcast network from Leeds has won Silver in the British Podcast Awards in the Kids category, with their hit bedtime story podcast, Koala Moon.
Hosted by Abbe Opher, the Koala Moon podcast shares original stories and meditations from talented writers that relax children whilst teaching them valuable skills. The stories cover topics such as neurodiversity, adoption, equality and self-belief, and have built in exercises and advice that promotes healthy emotional regulation, mental health awareness, and strong self-esteem.
The show was developed three years ago, with the mission to reinvent bedtimes, making it an easier time for children and parents alike. A strong sleep routine is the foundation a child needs to develop and thrive, and Koala Moon acts as a tool to instil healthy habits, and make bedtime a dream, rather than a struggle. In a short time, the show has organically grown to receive one million listens per month, and this award is testament to the quality of the content, and the mission behind it.
In a time when AI is taking over, and children’s content is designed for algorithms rather than developing brains, the team behind Koala Moon are proud to be standing for higher quality content in the kids space, championing mindful, screen free entertainment that puts children’s mental health and imaginations first.
Alongside Koala Moon winning silver, the Koala Kids network was also a finalist in the "Network" category of the awards, alongside big names such as Wondery, BBC & Audible.
